Semiconductor testing interface solution leader WinWay Technology (6515) (hereinafter referred to as WinWay) held its 2024 annual shareholders' meeting this morning at the Nanzih Technology Industry Park in Kaohsiung. Hosted by Chairman Mark Wang, the meeting approved the 2023 financial report, recognized the 2023 operating report and financial statements, and resolved to distribute cash dividends.
WinWay achieved a revenue of NT$3.682 billion last year, a decrease of 28.12% year-on-year, the second-highest in its history. The net profit attributable to the parent company's shareholders for the year was NT$464 million, with earnings per share after tax of NT$13.52, all figures based on TIFRS consolidated financial statements. The Board of Directors also approved the distribution of earnings for 2023, totaling NT$370 million in cash dividends, with a dividend per share of NT$11, achieving a payout ratio of 81%, the highest since listing on Taiwan Stock market (Note 1).
In 2023, the rapid development in the AI field drove an increase in demand for high-end chips. Revenue in the first half of the year remained at historically high levels and outperformed industry peers. However, throughout the year, slow semiconductor inventory digestion, geopolitical tensions, and inflationary pressures led to a conservative stance among end customers and weakened overall demand. Responding to market changes, WinWay continued close collaboration with global customers, actively developed new product lines, invested in new product R&D, and enhanced manufacturing efficiency through automation. New products have been verified and are gradually being adopted to the market.
WinWay focused on new product R&D and expanding business operations, achieving a record global market share in 2023. According to research firm Yole Intelligence, its ranking in the global Test Socket market rose from 4th to 3rd place, and it ranked 5th globally including Burn-in Sockets. With the operational and business deployed achievements in 2023, particularly the significant increase in advanced and high-frequency-related product introductions, WinWay is poised for continued growth in 2024 and beyond.
Furthermore, WinWay has made progress in promoting ESG initiatives. Since establishing a sustainability team in 2022, next year, it was selected in the "2023 Taiwan Best-in-Class 100" awards for its fundamentals, market presence, and sustainability efforts. In 2023, it achieved a 28.9% reduction in water usage and 15% of total electricity consumption from green energy sources, with plans to invest further in ESG-related actions and projects in the future.
