WinWay Cares, as part of its year-end charity efforts, has donated gifts to 50 disadvantage children. The charitable act aims to bring warmth to these children during the cold winter season. Many marginal families, ineligible for low-income household assistance, rely on charity organizations or compassionate individuals for support.
Recognizing this need, WinWay Cares participated in this charity event, marking its first involvement at the county level. Pingtung County Magistrate, Chou Chun-mi, personally presented certificates of appreciation to the participating enterprises during the event. The initiative, titled "Year-End Warmth in Pingtung," was organized by the Association of Charity Organizations in Kaohsiung City and co-sponsored by the Pingtung County Government. WinWay Cares played the role of Santa Claus, donating gifts to 50 disadvantage children living in remote areas. The children were selected from families in need, prioritizing those with children, and each household received a gift for one child.
The event allowed the selected children to express their wishes through a gift card, where they specified desired items, stated their motivations, and provided feedback or gratitude. This initiative not only provided gifts to those in need but also trained the children to understand the distinction between needs and wants. Furthermore, it empowered them to choose a meaningful gift within the budget constraints, fostering a sense of autonomy and the right to express their preferences.
