The annual SEMICON China Semiconductor Exhibition kicked off today (Jun. 29th) at the Shanghai New International Expo Center for a three-day event. This exhibition is not only the largest in scale in recent years but also the most comprehensive in terms of applications. It is expected to attract over 100,000 visitors. According to official SEMI, this event will bring together thousands of supply chain exhibitors showcasing the latest technologies, with a record-breaking number of booths reaching 1,200. The exhibition's encompasses five themes : sustainability, smart manufacturing, automotive, innovation, and talent. It includes the entire industry supply chain, including IC design, semiconductor manufacturing, packaging testing, and electronic assembly.
Leading IC test interface key supplier WinWay Technology(6515 TW)showcased its latest IC test solutions at SEMICON CHINA 2023, led by Senior Vice President of Global Operations, Mr. Jason Chen to participate this event. The company showcased full product lines including test sockets, thermal control systems, and vertical probe cards (VPC), along with the latest semiconductor test interface technology.
The tech key players have recently visited mainland China one after another, including leaders in wafer manufacturing, CPUs, GPUs, and mobile chips. There is a consensus that China is an indispensable and crucial market in the global tech industry.
With the eager development of the semiconductor industry in mainland China, the IC design and packaging and testing industries have rapidly expanded, in the mean time, the overall demand for testing interfaces has been driven.
WinWay continues to collaborate with significant local IC design companies, not only in AI, HPC and automatic chip testing, but also in X86, ARM, and other processor architectures, as well as with major backend testing customers. These collaborations serve as strategic partnerships aimed at developing more advanced products and seizing the opportunity in testing interface demand.
According to WinWay's financial result from last year and the first quarter of this year, the revenue from mainland China accounts for approximately 15% of the total revenue. Apart from North America, mainland China is a significant source of income. With WinWay‘s product line become more and more complete from wafer processing to packaging and post-testing, WinWay is optimistic about the future growth prospects in the mainland China.
Jason Chen mentioned WinWay has established a localized production base in Suzhou since 2014, providing the fastest and highest-quality customized testing interface tool services. With the diversification and localization of the semiconductor supply chain, WinWay will keep cultivating the mainland China market, aiming for mutual benefit and win-win scenarios across the semiconductor supply chain.
