WinWay establishes a service center here to provide convenient services to semiconductor design and testing customers, in response to the high-performance computing needs of advanced applications such as servers and cloud computing. At the same time, to follow the geographic and the shift in the semiconductor testing and manufacturing sector trend, WinWay offer frontline support and services to semiconductor design and testing customers in Southeast Asia.
Southeast Asia has gradually emerged as a significant semiconductor hub in recent years, particularly in Penang. It has attracted major global IC design and IDM companies, establishing itself as a semiconductor eco system. Malaysia's strategic location as a response to this development.
According to the "Taiwan Electronic Equipment Industry White Paper," the export growth rate of Taiwan's semiconductor equipment to Singapore and Malaysia has significantly increased in recent years. This growth is driven by the local packaging and testing industry development and the expansion of international manufacturers' production lines in Singapore and Malaysia.
On the other hand, Malaysia is currently Taiwan's global importer of semiconductor equipment. In recent years, there has been frequent interaction between Malaysia and Taiwan in the semiconductor supply chain. In 2022, Malaysia rose to become Taiwan's fifth-largest importer of semiconductor equipment. According to the trade statistics of the Republic of China Customs Administration, semiconductor equipment exports from Malaysia to Taiwan accounted for 4.7% with a staggering year-on-year growth rate of 36%, making it the fastest-growing country in terms of semiconductor equipment imports for Taiwan.
